Day 1/57: Sunday, March 1, 2020: Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia

Greeted in Papeete with heavy rain and strong winds. We were told the rainy season normally runs from November through February and they will get 12 to 15 feet of rain during that time. We got quite a bit last night.




Maria and I had a overview tour of the island which started by stopping at the home of James Norman Hall, author of Mutiny on the Bounty.















Next we stopped at a temple ruins.












And we stopped at a botanical water garden.

Once we got back to the pier, we went across the street and had lunch. We both had the tuna marinated in coconut milk. It was delicious. I looked up some recipes and it is easy to make as well.
