Day 21/77: Saturday, March 21, 2020: Going Home

We finally boarded our Qatar Airbus A380. We had upgraded to first class for a variety of reasons. The first class, on this double decker airliner, There eight first class "cabins". Maria and I shared with part of the aircraft with one other traveler. It honestly felt we had the entire aircraft to ourselves.

The stairs to "down stairs", where the rift raft hang out.

They even gave us jammies.

We left Sydney at 10:15 pm. We will arrive in Doha at 5:30 am. Thus, we will fly the entire 15 hours in total darkness...nice!

The rest room was HUGE!

I slept for about 7 hours and then ordered breakfast...starting with caviar and smoked salmon.

I then moved on the cheese omelette.

As we approached Doha,

I did not get a photo of the A380 plane we were on from Sydney to Doha, but when we arrived in Dallas, there was an A380 sitting next to us. My cabin would have been the first three windows on the upper deck.

We arrived to a very empty Doha airport.

We got off a bit late, but none the less, we are off on our 15 hour flight to Dallas on an Airbus A350 in Business Class. It was quite a let down after the First Class on the A380.

Qatar doesn't offer a lot of colorful scenary.

I wasn't hungry, but I order the cheese plate.

Over central Europe.

We arrived a bit late, 4:30 pm Dallas time, but Maria had booked a Budget rental for 7:00 pm (I don't have a driver's license). We got the car and took off on the 3-4 hour drive to Houston. I really enjoyed being a passenger. Maria drove very well through mostly rainy conditions. We arrived at Maria's place about 9:30 pm. A long day indeed!! So ends my Segment 4 and the entire World Cruise adventure. Thanks for following with me.

Thursday, April 2, 2020: Home in StL

We decided to quarantine at Maria's home in Houston for 14 days. We feel we were very safe in our travels, flying first or business clas...
